Cinnamon Honey Butter Popcorn- Popcorn Thursday #10

Ten popcorn recipes, and ten Popcorn Thursdays! I like how the number 10 feels. It’s like reaching double digit ages–there’s something substantial and solid about it. Someday I hope to be able to add another zero to that 10 and say I’ve created 100 popcorn recipes, but it definitely feels like I’m on the right path by reaching number ten.

Today’s recipe was inspired by steakhouses, but it’s not the steak I wanted to recreate. It was the butter they serve with the rolls. I’m definitely the person that goes to those places, orders chicken, fills up on rolls and butter before the meal arrives, takes my meal home in a box, and wonders why this is the story every time. I can’t help it; I’m much more of a carb person than a meat person, and I’m for sure a butter person when it’s presented with some type of flavoring mix-in. I thought that cinnamon, honey, and butter combination would work well on popcorn, and I was right! It’s perfect on fluffy-crispy popcorn and it has that same crave-able flavor. Hopefully you’ll try it and give it a 10 in honor of the 10th popcorn creation.

Cinnamon Honey Butter Popcorn

9 cups Popcorn, lightly salted and picked through for unpopped kernels

3 Tablespoons Butter, melted

2 Tablespoons Honey (use local, if you can find it!)

1/4-1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon (depending on your fondness for cinnamon)

1/4 cup sliced Almonds, toasted (optional)

Fine Salt, for sprinkling

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Spread the popcorn onto the sheet in a single layer.

Combine the melted butter, honey, and the cinnamon in a small bowl, stirring well.

Sprinkle the almonds (if using) over the popcorn and drizzle the honey butter mixture over all. Sprinkle some fine salt over everything and stir to combine. Serve with extra almonds or a little cinnamon, if desired.

  1. I so love the popcorn series. Just wait until the weather gets so cold that we can’t get outside!! We are trying EVERY ONE of these recipes that we haven’t already made.😀

  2. We just started making homemade popcorn relatively recently and I’ve been looking for a way to make some holiday-themed recipes! Definitely going to have to try this one out.

  3. I make popcorn at home all the time. I am planning to add this flavor to the list of flavors I have to try. Thanks for sharing. – Sreelatha
